EPL: Iraola Gives Liverpool Injury Updates Ahead Of Man City Clash
Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola has confirmed that Jeremy Jacquet is available for this weekend’s Premier League clash against Manchester City at Anfield.
However, Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak remain major doubts for the encounter after returning early from international duty with their respective countries.
Jacquet has recovered from a tweaked hamstring and is expected to be fit for the match. Gakpo is struggling with an ankle problem, while Isak has a thigh issue.
Iraola confirmed that Jacquet had returned to training on Thursday and was ready to play against City.
“That is the situation more or less – Jeremy has trained yesterday [Thursday] and he is good to go and I expect him to be available,” he told Sky Sports.
Providing an update on Gakpo and Isak, Iraola said both players had missed training on Thursday, although there was still some time before the match.
“Cody and Alex have not trained yesterday, we put images of the session yesterday, we are not hiding! We still have a couple of days, but I think it is going to be tough,” he added.

Liverpool will continue to assess both players before the weekend fixture, but Jacquet currently appears the only one of the three likely to be available against Manchester City.
