Nigerian singer Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, popularly known as Brymo, has accused Nobel laureate Professor Wole Soyinka of violence and called on him to address the history of secret cults in Nigerian higher institutions.

According to reports, Brymo made the allegations in a series of posts on his Instagram page, where he expressed anger over what he described as the deaths of young Nigerians and called for answers about the origins of secret cult groups in universities.

Explaining his position, the singer said he was determined to address what he considered the root of the problem.

“I am attacking the source, and I will not stop until Christ returns,” he wrote.

Brymo argued that Black people had suffered too much for him to believe he could resolve the issues in a single appearance. He added that he intended to continue speaking out even when people thought he was no longer around.

Expressing his anger over the deaths of young Nigerians, the singer stated, “I will not forgive how Wole, Olusegun, and Gani Adams killed our boys.”

He also compared the alleged actions of the individuals he mentioned with those of late musician Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, claiming that Fela protected his associates while others suffered the consequences of violence.

In another post, Brymo directly accused Soyinka of violence.

“I am the one who fell… and Professor Wole Soyinka is a very violent man,” he wrote.

The singer further claimed that he had been affected by the situation and insisted that speaking out would not harm him or his family.

Brymo also questioned Soyinka’s position on peace, referencing his Nobel Prize in another post.

“Your Nobel Peace Prize may be riding on the deal that is still killing your Nigerian boys,” he wrote, challenging the Nobel laureate to address the issues he had raised.

The musician called on Soyinka to grant an exclusive interview explaining the origins of secret cults in Nigerian higher institutions and addressing allegations of killings involving their members.

“Grant yourself an exclusive interview that clearly addresses the secret cults in our higher institutions, and killing our students,” Brymo stated.

He further challenged Soyinka to explain the circumstances surrounding the establishment of the groups, arguing that Nigerians deserved answers about their history and the violence associated with them.

Concluding his remarks, Brymo declared, “And no longer will your sons die for your misdemeanour.”

The allegations were made by Brymo in social media posts. The report did not provide independent evidence supporting his claims.
