UCL: Why we came from behind to beat Roma 3-2 – Man Utd boss, Carrick
Manchester United manager Michael Car rick has reflected on his team’s dramatic comeback victory over Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils found themselves two goals behind at Old Trafford after struggling through a run of nine consecutive matches without a win in all competitions.
However, Bruno Fernandes converted a retaken penalty to reduce the deficit before Matheus Cunha scored twice to complete the turnaround and secure a 3-2 victory.
Speaking to UEFA after the match, Car rick described the encounter as a challenging one and acknowledged the quality of the Italian side.
“It was a challenging game,” he said. “I think we started OK in the game; we knew it was going to be tough – they’ve only had one defeat all season. They’re a very, very good team.”
Car rick explained that United initially performed well but were unsettled after conceding an unexpected goal. He admitted that the team’s recent poor form had contributed to some anxiety and nervousness among the players.
