Mr Ibu’s Widow Denies Secretly Selling Late Actor’s Properties

Published

on

Stella Maris Okafor, the widow of late Nollywood actor John Okafor, has denied allegations that she secretly sold her husband’s properties and kept the proceeds for herself.

The allegations surfaced after the late actor’s family recently spoke publicly about their financial struggles.

Speaking in a video interview with content creator King Mitchy, Stella Maris explained that the sale of the properties was carried out legally under a court order and with the approval of Mr Ibu’s two sons, Valentine Okafor and Daniel Okafor.

She said she has official documents to support her claims.

“I have to show you this document. This is a court order. We—I didn’t, not me alone. My husband’s two sons, Valentine Okafor and Daniel Okafor, and I did it according to the court order. Every evidence is here. We sold the house. I am not the one that sold the house,” she said.

Stella Maris also revealed that she currently earns a living by running an online jewellery business. According to her, she had wanted to start the business years earlier, but her late husband advised against it because she was actively working as an actress.

“I have a page online where I sell jewellery, and I am still selling my jewellery. When I wanted to start this business, my late husband stopped me because I was acting. My late husband was my colleague in the industry,” she explained.

She further disclosed that she plans to leave her current residence because it is too expensive to maintain. She said she only moved there after her husband’s death due to security concerns and pressure from the public.

“I did not intend to come to this place. It’s because of pressure and security, but I am packing out.”

Reacting to claims by a young man who alleged online that he is one of Mr Ibu’s children and was denied financial support, Stella Maris said the family’s disagreements over money started shortly after the actor was buried.

According to her, some relatives demanded that she share the money she received during the burial ceremony, but she refused because it was meant to support her children.

“Before they sold the land, we were still in the village, and they were dragging with me over the money that was given to me during the burial. They insisted that I should share the money with them. I told them that this was money given to me for my children. Why should I come and share it with you people?”

“Gospel Music Industry Is Darker Than People Think” – Eezee Tee

Published

on

Nigerian gospel music producer Eezee Tee has described the gospel music industry as one plagued by hypocrisy, dishonesty, and pretence.

In a post shared on his Instagram page, the music executive claimed that religion is often used to cover up what truly happens behind the scenes, adding that the industry has become more focused on performance and emotions than genuine spirituality.

According to him, many gospel artistes who criticize the secular music industry are already aware of the same problems within the gospel space.

Eezee Tee said his experience working in both the gospel and secular music industries has exposed him to realities many people do not know about. He also alleged that those who challenge wrongdoing often become targets and face rejection.

He wrote:

“The Gospel Music Industry is darker than what you think. It is clothed in hypocrisy, lies, denials, pretence, and deep religion, so folks rarely see through it. It is more performance-based than spirit-led. Driven more by emotions than spirituality.

“Most of the gospel folks who criticize the secular industry know this for a fact. I have been here for a while and have been privileged to engage with both industries, and trust me, you have no idea the evil that goes on in the Gospel Industry. Once you stand against evil, you’re hated and become a target. May Jesus help us.”

Hilda Baci Condemns Online Bullying of Her 15-Year-Old Brother

Published

on

Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has spoken out against online trolls who mocked and bullied her 15-year-old brother, David, after a video of them together went viral on social media.

According to Hilda, the clip was originally shared on her Snapchat as a fun and harmless moment between siblings. However, it was reposted on other platforms, where some users turned it into an opportunity to ridicule the teenager.

She alleged that some people went as far as editing her brother’s photos to make him appear bigger, simply to generate jokes and attract attention online.

Expressing her disappointment, Hilda said it was disturbing that adults were targeting a child who had done nothing wrong except appear in a playful video with his sister.

In a post on her X account, she wrote:

“I never imagined that a lighthearted video with my 15-year-old brother would be taken from my Snapchat, reposted across different platforms, and turned into an excuse to bully a child. Some of you have left cruel comments. Others have gone as far as editing his photos to make him look bigger just to get a few laughs.”

She continued by condemning those responsible for the attacks, saying the behaviour reflected more on the trolls than on her brother.

“Adults are editing the image of a 15-year-old boy and publicly mocking him. My brother did nothing except exist in a funny video with his sister. If your idea of entertainment is tearing down a child, then that’s a reflection of your character, not his. He’s a child, stop the cruelty.”

Hilda also described her brother as a kind and loved young boy with a bright future ahead of him. She stressed that hateful comments and edited images would not define who he is.

She urged social media users to remember that there is a real teenager behind the screen who can read the hurtful comments directed at him.

“He’s kind. He’s loved. He’s growing, learning, and becoming the amazing young man I know he will be. No hateful comment or edited photo will ever change that. I hope, before you type another insult or share another edited image, you remember that there is a real teenager on the other side of your screen reading what you write. Do better.”
