Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has predicted that Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo could continue playing professional football for another one or two years.

Evra and Ronaldo were teammates at Manchester United during their time together at Old Trafford. Evra retired from football in 2019, while Ronaldo, now 41, is preparing for another season with Al-Nassr after representing Portugal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking to Heavy Sports, Evra praised Ronaldo’s professionalism, strong work ethic and dedication to maintaining his fitness.

“I never played with anybody else who was more professional than Cristiano. Training was at 10 a.m., and this guy was showing up at 8 a.m., practicing everything.

“I feel that Cristiano has a nice disease. He’s addicted to working hard and to pushing himself.

“And that is why I am not surprised by his longevity. He can still play for another one or two years, and I wouldn’t be surprised.”

Evra believes Ronaldo’s commitment to training and his desire to keep improving are major reasons why the Portuguese superstar has been able to maintain his career at the highest level for so many years.
