DSS Arrests Three Suspected Kidnappers, Rescues Victim In Nasarawa

Operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, have arrested three suspected kidnappers and rescued a victim in Nasarawa State.

One of the suspects was arrested at the kidnappers’ hideout in Atabula, Duduguru community, Jenkwe Development Area, while two others were tracked to a hotel in Lafia, the state capital, where they were apprehended.

During the operation, the security operatives reportedly destroyed the makeshift camp used by the suspects.

They also recovered cash, five mobile phones and other items from the hideout.

The development was disclosed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Nasarawa State Governor, Ibrahim Addra, in a statement issued on Thursday.

Reacting to the operation, Governor Abdullahi Sule commended the security agencies for their vigilance and commitment to tackling kidnapping and other criminal activities in the state.

The governor urged the security agencies to sustain their efforts and remain determined in the fight against criminal elements across Nasarawa.

Sule also assured the security agencies of his administration’s continued support as they carry out their responsibilities.

He further appealed to residents to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with timely and credible information about suspicious activities.

“Collective vigilance and cooperation are essential to maintaining peace and security in the state,” the governor said.
