2026 Ballon d’Or: A Talented Genius – Eto’o Names Player to Win Award

Cameroon football legend Samuel Eto’o has said Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal should win the 2026 Ballon d’Or.

Yamal has been officially nominated alongside 29 other footballers for the prestigious award.

The Spain international is looking to go one better after finishing as runner-up behind last year’s winner, Ousmane Dembele.

In a post on Instagram, Eto’o described Yamal as a talented genius and wished him well in the Ballon d’Or race.

He wrote: “Ballon d’Or of our hearts. Genius, Bold, Talented. Best of luck in this Ballon d’Or race.

“Whatever the verdict is, one thing is certain, just like Ousmane, you are already the Ballon d’Or of our hearts. Keep making us dream.”

The winner will be announced at a ceremony in London on October 26.
