2026 Ballon d’Or: Harry Kane speaks on winning award ahead of Mbappe, Yamal
The Bayern Munich striker made the comments during an interview with Owen Hargreaves, which will be aired on HBO Max.
Kane is among the leading contenders for the prestigious award, alongside Kylian Mbappe, Lamine Yamal, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Rodri.
The England international believes the Ballon d’Or will once again generate plenty of debate over which player deserves to win the prize.
Kane said: “The thing with football opinions – there are so many opinions, so many arguments for different players, and people love this player because ‘he’s fast’ and ‘he’s got great IQ’ and ‘his finishing is great’.
He added: “So I think that is what makes football special, all those debates, and the Ballon d’Or is definitely one of them. I’m happy that I am in contention, so we will have to wait and see.”
