Nigeria’s Flamingos will discover their Round of 16 opponents at the ongoing 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup following the conclusion of the remaining Group F fixtures.
Akeem Busari’s side finished second in Group B after recording an impressive 3-1 victory over defending champions North Korea on Friday in Rabat. The result secured six points for the Nigerian team from three group matches.
With their group campaign completed, the Flamingos are scheduled to face the runners-up in Group F in the knockout stage. The outcome of the remaining matches in the group will determine which team they meet.
Spain have already secured qualification for the Round of 16 after winning their matches against Mexico and Australia, strengthening their position in the group.
Mexico currently occupy second place following a convincing 3-1 victory over Chile. Their position leaves them in contention to finish as runners-up and potentially face Nigeria in the next round.
Chile and Australia, who have one point each, also remain in the race for a place in the knockout stage. Chile will face Spain in their final group match, while Mexico take on Australia, with both fixtures set to determine the final standings.
