2027: Makinde, S/West APM Gov’ship Candidates Meet

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) presidential candidate, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, has had strategic discussions with the party’s Southwest governorship contenders.

This was stated in a statement provided to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday by Prince Laja Adeoye, the APM governorship candidate in Lagos State.

According to Adeoye, the meeting’s main objectives were to coordinate grassroots agitation in advance of the 2027 general elections and to develop the party’s organisational framework.

He stated that Prince Laja Adeoye of Lagos, TPL Rotimi Babajide of Ogun, and Bimbo Adekanmbi, the APM candidate for governor of Oyo, were present at the meeting.

He also mentioned that Osun State’s APM candidate for governor attended the strategy meeting.

He claims that talks focused on stepping up preparations and strengthening the party’s position in the Southwest geopolitical region.

According to Adeoye, the party was concentrating especially on the states of Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ekiti, and Ondo in order to strengthen its electoral position.

Prior to the 2027 elections, he stated that the goal was to turn the states into “reliable strongholds” for the APM.

As part of its larger national mobilisation strategy, the Lagos candidate stated that the party also intended to increase its influence outside of the Southwest. (NAN)
