2027: Tinubu can’t lead Nigeria to the promise Land – APM campaign
The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has berated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his recent allusion to Egypt, saying the President does not have what it takes to lead Nigeria to the promise land.
Daily Trust reports that when he hosted a support group at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, on Monday, the President had ruled out return to fuel subsidy, saying Nigeria could not return to Egypt.
Reacting to the remark, Richard Ihediwa, Director of Strategic Communications of the Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organization (MDPCO), said the President has made Nigerians to equate his administration to that of a “modern-day Pharaoh under whose rule Nigeria has become a land of bondage”.

In a statement in Abuja on Wednesday, Ihediwa said Tinubu’s “hardness of heart and refusal/failure to heed the wailing of suffering Nigerians shows that, like Pharaoh, he appears to relish the sight of citizens struggling in grinding poverty and misery.”
While insisting that Tinubu has what it takes to bring succor to Nigerians by “rescinding the harsh policies”, the APM campaign said, “His latest inflexible response to suffering Nigerians, coupled with his ill-considered reference to Egypt, sends a clear message. A leader who relentlessly chastised the people with whips for over three years cannot but resort to scorpions if allowed to continue beyond 2027.
“Under President Tinubu, democracy and its tenets of Rule of Law, freedom, justice, due process, transparency and respect for the rights of citizens have all been eroded as Nigeria slides into a fully authoritarian regime; stifling electoral competition, freedom of dissent and institutional accountability as also reported in the 2026 Human Rights Foundation Tyranny Tracker.
“In “Pharoah’s Nigeria” officials of the Tinubu-led administration and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) appear to see the nation a fiefdom, and Nigerians as vassals, slaves and conquered people.
“This explains why the APC government continues to arrogantly impose harsh taxes and remain unaccountable while the people agonize.”
APM campaign said the state of the economy has left millions of families at the “mercy of hunger and disease. Scenes of desperate Nigerians scavenging through dustbins and most times fighting at events for food become increasingly common, even in major cities across the country.
“Across Nigeria, soaring food costs, transport fares and rents have turned survival into a Sisyphean struggle. Salaries have lost their purchasing power, the healthcare sector is struggling under inadequate funding, and rising unemployment has condemned millions of young Nigerians to uncertainty.
“In any event, President Tinubu should know that Nigerians are too famished to gird their loins for a journey that lead to nowhere. They know that his “promise land” is a wilderness of hunger, hardship, hopelessness and uncertainty. Of course, Pharoah cannot lead to a Promise Land.”
APM said the fact that over 103 million Nigerians registered to participate in the 2027 general elections, with majority of them surging in support of the Makinde Presidency underscores the determination of the citizens to vote in Makinde and free themselves from APC’s “Pharaonic” rule.
