EPL: Guardiola Planning Shock Man City Return

Former Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is reportedly planning a surprise return to the Etihad Stadium to show his support for the club.

According to the UK Mirror, Guardiola is expected to attend Manchester City’s next home game as he looks to reconnect with the club and its supporters.Manchester City, now managed by Enzo Maresca, are scheduled to host Paris Saint-Germain in a Champions League fixture on October 14.

Guardiola has reportedly informed senior officials at the club that he would like to return and “be with his people.”

The potential visit comes shortly after Manchester City were found guilty by an independent commission of breaching Premier League financial regulations between 2009 and 2018. City have continued to maintain their innocence and lodged an appeal on Friday.

Guardiola left Manchester City during the summer after spending a decade in charge of the club. During his time at the Etihad, the Spanish manager won 20 trophies.

Guardiola was also in charge throughout the four-year investigation into Manchester City’s financial records. His possible return to the Etihad would therefore come at a significant period for the club, following his departure and the ongoing appeal.
