Actress Omotunde Ogundimu Reveals Cervical Cancer Battle, Appeals For Financial Support

Published

on

Veteran Nollywood actress Omotunde Ogundimu has publicly disclosed that she is battling cervical cancer and has appealed to Nigerians for financial assistance to continue her treatment.

The actress made the emotional revelation during an interview with her colleague, Biola Adebayo, on the Talk to Bpodcast.

According to Ogundimu, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2025 and has been living with severe pain since then. She said the illness has placed a heavy financial burden on her family, with her children spending their savings to support her treatment.

A widow since 2012 and a single mother of three, the actress said she had initially chosen to keep her health condition private but decided to seek public help after exhausting all available resources.

She also alleged that she has struggled to get acting jobs in recent years despite spending more than three decades in Nollywood. According to her, she reached out to several colleagues for movie roles, but her efforts did not yield results.

Appealing to anyone she may have offended in the industry, Ogundimu asked for forgiveness and another opportunity to work.

She said:

“I’m going through severe pain. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I don’t know where I got it from. I don’t look for people’s trouble; I’m an easy-going person.

“My children have spent all they have on my treatment. They can no longer take care of themselves because they are taking care of me. I refused to ask the public for help before, but I have no other option now.

“Nigerians, please have mercy on me. I just want to be healed. The pain is severe. I’m a widow and a single mother of three.

“I don’t usually get acting jobs. I have called my colleagues and begged for movie roles, but none came through. If I have offended anyone in the industry, I sincerely ask for forgiveness. I have been in this profession for 35 years, and I only want another chance to survive and continue my career.”

Pastors Must Rebuke Bad Governments, Not Benefit From Them – Odumeje

Published

on

Popular Onitsha-based cleric and founder of the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, Chukwuemeka “Odumeje” Ohanaemere, has said pastors have a biblical responsibility to speak against poor governance instead of seeking personal benefits from political leaders.

His comments come days after the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, said President Bola Tinubu was doing his best to tackle Nigeria’s security challenges.

Speaking during a church service, Odumeje referenced Adeboye by name and urged religious leaders to boldly confront injustice and hold political leaders accountable.

According to him, the role of a pastor is to tell the truth regardless of who is in power.

He said:

“I don’t want to talk to Adeboye; I don’t want to talk to that man. Do you know what they call a pastor? Go to the Bible, a pastor must rebuke a bad government.

“They shouldn’t look to benefit from it. We are fathers in the Lord. It is God who makes my voice heard in the world. It is for me to tell people the truth about what is happening. Any time you try to fight for the truth or speak against the evil government of Nigeria, they will pursue you.”

The cleric also criticized the practice of praising elected officials for carrying out projects funded with public money. He argued that governors, senators, and the president are public servants who are elected to serve the people and should be held accountable for their actions.

Odumeje said Nigerians should understand their rights and stop celebrating basic infrastructure that should ordinarily be provided by government.

He said:

“Governors, senators, presidents or whatever you want to call them are there as your representatives. They are not there for you to serve them; they are there to serve every citizen of Nigeria, and they owe you accountability for the job you sent them to do.

“We don’t know our rights in this country. That is why people celebrate ordinary roads. The road a governor or president builds is not their money; it belongs to all Nigerians.”

The preacher further urged citizens not to remain silent about the country’s challenges, alleging that many political leaders have failed to deliver meaningful development despite Nigeria’s abundant resources.

He also praised the late Biafran leader, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, describing him as someone who stood for what he believed was right at a young age. Odumeje said Ojukwu’s courage and leadership continue to inspire him.

Speaking on the country’s leadership and resources, the cleric alleged that Nigeria’s wealth has not translated into better living conditions for ordinary citizens. He claimed many leaders prioritize personal interests while citizens continue to struggle with poor infrastructure, inadequate education, and underdevelopment.

Odumeje concluded by calling on Nigerians to continue demanding accountability from public office holders and to judge leaders by their performance rather than their positions or titles.

“Let Me Breathe First” – Uche Ogbodo Responds To Flood Of Messages After Reported Marriage Split

Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has reacted to the wave of attention she has received from male admirers following reports that her marriage to Bobby Maris has ended.

In a post shared on her Instagram page, the actress revealed that she received more than 100 direct messages from men in a single day. However, she made it clear that she is not looking to start another relationship anytime soon.

According to Ogbodo, she needs time to heal before considering a new romantic relationship.

She wrote:

“Nah wah ooooo! It’s like all these men I’ve been looking for a way to get to me, ’cos what in heaven is going on in my DM? Guys make una chill ooo! I’m not searching yet! Let me breathe first. Ogini nu! 100 DMs a day is too much for just me. Haba!”

The actress’ comments come amid growing speculation that her second marriage has crashed.

Earlier, Ogbodo shared a series of emotional posts on social media in which she questioned why society often accepts it when a man becomes tired of a marriage but criticizes a woman for expressing similar feelings.

She also suggested that a woman’s happiness in marriage often depends on having the right support system and questioned why choosing to leave an unhappy marriage should be treated as a wrongdoing.

Reflecting on her experience, Ogbodo said she had spent eight years in the relationship and wondered whether people expected her to remain in it indefinitely before her pain would be acknowledged.

Neither Uche Ogbodo nor Bobby Maris has officially confirmed the reported separation or provided further details about the state of their marriage.

“Any Sex You Don’t Enjoy Is Slavery” – Filmmaker Aniebiet Francis Advises Women

Published

on

Nigerian filmmaker and actress Aniebiet Francis has encouraged women to establish clear boundaries in their intimate relationships, stressing that consent should always be respected, including within marriage.

In a post shared on Facebook, Francis said women should never feel pressured into sexual activity they do not want or enjoy. She argued that emotional, intellectual, and financial independence empowers women to make informed decisions about their bodies and relationships.

According to her, women who are empowered are better able to decide when they want to have sex and how they expect to be treated during intimacy.

She wrote:

“As a woman, any sex you do not like constitutes sex slavery. When you are emotionally, intellectually, and financially empowered, you will have the audacity to choose when you want to have sex and how your body should be treated throughout it.”

Francis also maintained that marriage does not remove the need for consent. She said spouses should respect each other’s boundaries and should not force sexual activity or introduce new sexual practices without mutual agreement.

She added:

“Even your husband shouldn’t force sex on you when you are not up for it or try new things with your body without your consent and approval.”

Aniebiet Francis is known for producing films that focus on social issues and human experiences. Some of her notable works include Trepidation, Loopholes, Higher Crime, and Final List.
