VeryDarkMan Bows To Pressure, Withdraws From P-Square Family Feud

Nigerian social media activist, VeryDarkMan, has announced his withdrawal from the ongoing family dispute involving the members of the defunct music group, P-Square.

His decision came after several Nigerians criticised him for involving himself in the long-running disagreement involving Peter Okoye, Paul Okoye and their elder brother, Jude Okoye.

Reports that VeryDarkMan had previously faced backlash from social media users who accused him of defending Jude and attempting to shift attention away from allegations raised by Peter against his twin brother and their elder brother.

Peter’s claims have attracted support from several Nigerian and international celebrities, who have publicly spoken in his favour.

The situation also prompted Liberian actor Frank Artus to warn VeryDarkMan against getting involved in the Okoye family dispute.

In a video directed at the activist, Artus urged him to “stay off Okoye’s family.”

However, in a new video shared on Sunday evening, VeryDarkMan appeared to change his position and acknowledged that Jude also bears some responsibility for the crisis.

He said that after listening to both Jude and Peter, he would place 40 percent of the blame on Jude, 30 percent on Peter, and the remaining 30 percent on the wife, family and other people involved.

“I just want to make one point about this P-Square thing. I see a lot of people saying VDM, you are sounding as if Jude did not have a fault in all of this. As if Jude is innocent and Peter is just saying all of this without trigger.

“Well, personally, after listening to Jude and Peter, if you ask me who to put the blame on, I will say I will put 40 percent of the blame on Jude, and I put 30 percent of the blame on Peter, and another 30 percent on the wife, the family and everybody,” he said.

VeryDarkMan also defended his right to express his opinion, saying that the criticism he received did not mean he had committed any offence.

According to him, his latest position was intended to provide a more balanced view of the dispute.

“And to the people insulting me, it is not a crime. You can insult people. Now there’s balance in views in the P-Square matter,” he added.

The activist subsequently announced that he was withdrawing from the family dispute.

He also disclosed that he would now focus on preparing to appear before a police panel over his allegations against AIG Jimoh Moshood.

His latest comments mark a change from his earlier position on the P-Square controversy, which had generated significant reactions across social media.
