Transfer: Man Utd Complete Another Summer Deal
Manchester United have confirmed the transfer of young winger Ethan Williams to Peterborough United for a considerable undisclosed fee.
The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Falkirk. He also featured for Manchester United’s first team during their pre-season campaign this summer, making appearances against Wrexham, Rosenborg and Atletico Madrid.
Williams has now left Manchester United in search of regular first-team football and the opportunity to build his professional career in the lower leagues.
Peterborough United finished in the lower half of League One last season but are hoping to challenge for a play-off place in the upcoming campaign.
Manchester United wished Williams well as he begins the next stage of his career.
The club said:
“Academy forward Ethan Williams has finalized a move to League One club Peterborough United, pending registration.
“The 20-year-old played a significant role in our Under-18s’ achievements during the 2023/24 season, netting seven goals in 11 U18 Premier League matches as the Reds secured both the northern and national titles, along with the Premier League Cup.
“He now joins Luke Williams’ squad in preparation for The Posh’s opening league match of the season, away to Bradford City on Saturday.
