Transfer: Arsenal Ignore Galatasaray’s Warning, Determined To Sign Osimhen
Arsenal are reportedly refusing to give up on their pursuit of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen despite Galatasaray’s warning that the forward will not be sold before the end of the summer transfer window.
The Premier League champions have explored the possibility of signing Osimhen as they continue to strengthen their attack.
At the same time, Galatasaray are negotiating potential deals for Arsenal players Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri.
Osimhen has been linked with a move to the Premier League on several occasions and came close to joining Chelsea two years ago.
The 27-year-old striker played a key role in Napoli’s Serie A title triumph in 2023 and has also helped Galatasaray win consecutive league titles.
Since joining the Turkish champions from Napoli in a deal worth €75 million (£65 million), Osimhen has scored 59 goals in 74 appearances.
The Nigeria international recently refused to completely rule out a transfer when asked about the ongoing rumours.
“There are always rumors during the transfer windows…” Osimhen said.
However, Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has made it clear that the club does not want to sell their star striker.
According to 343 Digital, Ozbek has assured supporters that Osimhen will not be sold under any circumstances.
Galatasaray have already demonstrated their determination to keep the Nigerian by rejecting a €130 million (£111 million) offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.
Despite Galatasaray’s stance, Turkish publication Sozcu reports that Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta remain determined to sign Osimhen.
The Gunners reportedly consider the Nigerian a “more attainable” option than Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez.
Arsenal have maintained a long-standing interest in Alvarez, but Atletico Madrid are reportedly demanding at least £150 million before considering his sale.

With that price considered extremely high, Arsenal could now make Osimhen their priority as they continue their search for a top-class striker.
