Transfer: Pogba’s Contract Officially Terminated
Monaco have officially terminated Paul Pogba’s contract, the Ligue 1 club confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday.
The 33-year-old midfielder has been released by Monaco after struggling with a series of injuries.
Pogba, who previously played for Manchester United and Juventus, has found it difficult to return to his best form since completing his doping ban.
Monaco explained that the objectives set for Pogba were “only partially achieved.”
However, the club praised the midfielder for his “remarkable mindset, determination and unwavering high standards.”
Monaco also said Pogba remained a positive influence on his teammates even when he was injured by “sharing his experience and know-how” with the other players.
In the same statement, Pogba admitted that he had not “played as many matches” as expected.
