LaLiga table: Barcelona go two points clear, Real Madrid in third place

Barcelona have moved two points clear at the top of the LaLiga table following their emphatic 5-0 victory over Valencia at the Mestalla on Sunday.

The Spanish champions took full advantage of Real Madrid’s 1-0 defeat to Real Betis on Saturday, which gave Barcelona an opportunity to create an early gap in the title race.

Hansi Flick’s side made no mistake, producing a dominant display against Valencia and securing another important three points.

Lamine Yamal opened the scoring in the sixth minute, giving Barcelona an early advantage and setting the tone for the rest of the match.

Fermin Lopez then doubled Barcelona’s lead before half-time as the visitors went into the break in complete control.

Barcelona continued their dominance after the restart, with Raphinha adding a third goal before Pedri made it 4-0.

Yamal completed the rout by scoring his second goal of the game as Barcelona sealed a convincing 5-0 victory.

The result leaves Barcelona top of the table with 12 points from four matches, maintaining their perfect start to the campaign.

Alaves are currently second with 10 points, while Real Madrid have dropped to third place with nine points following their defeat to Real Betis.
