2026 Ballon d’Or: There’s No One Better – Mbappe Picks Player To Win Award

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has backed himself to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or, insisting that no player was better than him during the year under review.

The France captain is among the 30 nominees for the prestigious award, alongside stars including Rodri, Lionel Messi, Lamine Yamal, Harry Kane and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Mbappe believes he has done enough to claim the award when the winner is announced on October 26.

“I have a feeling that I can win it this year. It is one of my goals, and there is not much time left,” Mbappe told L’Équipe.

The Real Madrid star also stressed that while team success is important, the Ballon d’Or remains an individual award.

“I have always believed that the Ballon d’Or should be given to a truly exceptional player.”

“Of course there is a collective aspect because football is a team sport, but in the end it is an individual award.”
