AFCON 2027 Qualifier: Super Eagles Fight Back to Defeat Madagascar

Nigeria recovered from conceding an early goal to defeat Madagascar 2-1 in their first 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture.

The Super Eagles went behind to a header, to the shock of fans inside the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

However, two debutants ensured that Eric Chelle’s men took maximum points.

George Ilenikhena and Moses Usor scored either side of half-time to complete Nigeria’s comeback and secure victory for the three-time African champions.

Nigeria will now take on Guinea-Bissau in their next fixture on Tuesday.
