AFCON 2027Q: Chelle Assures Super Eagles Ready For Guinea-Bissau Battle

Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle expects a difficult encounter when Nigeria face Guinea-Bissau in their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match on Tuesday.

Nigeria will take on the Djurtus at the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro in a Group L Matchday Two fixture.

Both teams started their qualifying campaigns with victories. Nigeria defeated Madagascar 2-1 at home, while Guinea-Bissau secured a 2-1 away win against Tanzania.

Chelle acknowledged the quality of Guinea-Bissau and warned that his team must remain focused throughout the encounter.

“Guinea-Bissau, they have a great team and they have some players who play in Europe, in Africa, in Turkey, France. So, this is a big game,” Chelle said during his pre-match press conference.

The coach added: “The most important thing for us is to try to go forward, is to try to keep this victory, but it will be not easy. So, we have to stay focused about our group and our state of mind, which is the most important thing.”

The Group L clash will kick off at 5pm Nigerian time, with Nigeria looking to maintain their winning start to the qualifiers.
