AFCON 2027Q: We’re Not Scared Of Super Eagles – Madagascar Star Raveloson

Madagascar midfielder Rayan Raveloson has declared that the Barea are not afraid of Nigeria’s Super Eagles ahead of their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Madagascar will face the Super Eagles in their Matchday 1 encounter at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday.

Nigeria are considered favourites for the fixture because of their history and experience in African football, as well as the difference in ranking and pedigree between both teams.

However, Raveloson believes Madagascar have what it takes to challenge the three-time African champions and potentially cause an upset.

“It’s football. They are humans like us, so we are not scared,” Raveloson told reporters in Uyo.

The midfielder, who plays for Turkish club Amedspor, will be hoping to help Madagascar repeat their previous success against Nigeria.

Madagascar defeated Nigeria 2-0 when both countries last met in the group stage of the 2019 AFCON tournament in Egypt, giving the Barea confidence ahead of Friday’s encounter.
