Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi has added another trophy to his remarkable career after winning the Campeones Cup on Wednesday, taking his total number of major trophies to 49.

Messi lifted the trophy after Inter Miami defeated Cruz Azul 2-0 in the final at Nu Stadium.

The Argentine opened the scoring before Casemiro added another goal to secure victory for Inter Miami and complete their successful campaign.

Messi has now won trophies with all three senior clubs he has represented during his career — Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Miami.

His trophy collection also includes major international honours with Argentina, including the FIFA World Cup, Copa América and Finalissima.
