Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha has been nominated for the 2026 Ballon d’Or Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year award.

The 40-year-old was included in the shortlist released on Tuesday following his impressive performances for Cape Verde at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Vozinha will compete against some of the biggest names in world football for the individual prize.

The nominees include Argentina’s Emiliano Martínez, Senegal’s Édouard Mendy, Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois and Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya.

The full 10-man shortlist also features Yassine Bounou, Joan García, Gregor Kobel, Matvey Safonov and Unai Simón.

The winner of the award will be announced next month during the Ballon d’Or ceremony in London, with Vozinha hoping to become the first Cape Verdean to claim the prestigious honour.
