Ballon d’Or 2026: He Has Highest Chances – Keita Picks Player To Win Award
Monza forward Keita Balde has backed Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
The 31-year-old made his choice while speaking on El Chiringuito, as the debate over this year’s prestigious individual award continues to grow.
“Lamine should win the Ballon d’Or,” Keita said. “I think he is the player today who, for me globally and individually, has the highest chances of taking home the Ballon d’Or.”
Keita believes Yamal’s potential victory would be deserved and would not come as a major surprise considering the teenager’s performances and influence.
“I think it would be fair, it wouldn’t be a surprise at all because of how he plays football, how he inspires people and kids at his age,” he added.
Yamal is among the 30 players shortlisted for this year’s Ballon d’Or. The Barcelona winger is competing for the award alongside notable names including Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane and Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe.
