Ballon d’Or 2026: He’s Complete – Ex-Barcelona Manager Snubs Yamal, Names Player Who Should Win Award

Former Barcelona manager Quique Setién has named Barcelona captain Raphinha as the player he believes should win the 2026 Ballon d’Or, while leaving out Lamine Yamal and Rodri.

According to Setién, Raphinha deserves to win the prestigious individual award despite not being included in the 30-man Ballon d’Or nominees.

Speaking to SER Deportivos Gran Canaria, Setién said: “No need to think about it. I would give the Ballon d’Or to Raphinha right now.

“I am very clear on this because he is the best player. He is an absolutely complete player.”

Raphinha has been impressive for Barcelona so far this season, with the Brazilian international scoring 12 goals for the Catalan club.

Despite Setién’s praise, Raphinha was not included in the 30-man shortlist for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
