Ace music producer and Mavin Records boss, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has revealed how repeated rejection from girls during his secondary school days affected his self-esteem and confidence.

Speaking during an episode of the Keeping It Real With Jima podcast, Don Jazzy admitted that he did not consider himself attractive while growing up and often faced rejection whenever he approached girls for relationships.

According to him, the experience had a lasting psychological impact that followed him into adulthood.

The music executive explained that after achieving success in the entertainment industry, he decided to reconnect with some of the girls who had rejected him in school as a way of overcoming the emotional effects of those experiences.

He said that by the time he found many of them, most had already gotten married.

Don Jazzy said:

“I wasn’t good-looking during my secondary school days. Thank God for music because back then I was constantly being rejected by girls. But after I became successful, I went back to look for all the girls who rejected me. But almost all of them were already married.”

He added that reconnecting with his former schoolmates and seeing how much his life had changed helped him heal from the pain of those past rejections.

According to the Mavin boss, the experience gave him a sense of closure and helped him move on from insecurities that had lingered for years.

Popular Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma has revealed that he often celebrates when couples get divorced, explaining that he sees it as a sign that someone has been freed from an unhappy marriage.

Speaking during a recent episode of The Moraya Show, Bovi said he believes that many divorces happen because one or both partners have been struggling in the relationship.

He said, “That is not to say my marriage has been easy for 17 years. It has not. I got married at 29. I have been providing for 17 years nonstop.”
