Carabao Cup: Onyeka Doubtful For Coventry City vs Aston Villa
Coventry City midfielder Frank Onyeka is doubtful for Wednesday’s Carabao Cup third-round clash against Aston Villa.
The Nigeria international will be assessed ahead of the game after suffering an injury during Coventry’s 5-0 home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.
Onyeka was unable to continue the match and was replaced by Ghana international Caleb Yirenkyi with 18 minutes remaining.
Coventry will also be without Nigeria striker Taiwo Awoniyi, who is suspended after being sent off in the defeat to Brighton.
Awoniyi received a straight red card in the 53rd minute of the match, ruling him out of the Carabao Cup encounter.
Frank Lampard’s side will also miss Josh Eccles, Kaine Kesler-Hayden, Luke Woolfenden and Haji Wright for the clash with Aston Villa.
