Champions League: Gary Lineker names team to stop Arsenal from winning trophy

England legend Gary Lineker has identified Barcelona as the team that could stop Arsenal from winning the Champions League this season.

Lineker believes Arsenal are among the favourites to win the competition but feels Barcelona have become even stronger following the arrival of Rodri.

“Arsenal will be one of the favourites but I don’t think overall they’ve got quite the superstars that some of the other big guns in Europe have,” Lineker said on The Rest is Football podcast.

The former England striker believes Barcelona’s midfield has received a major boost with Rodri joining the club, particularly because of the importance of his position.

“I do think Barcelona might be quite tasty and take some beating this season now they’ve got Rodri in there as well in that crucial position.”

Arsenal started their Champions League campaign with a 1-0 victory over Napoli on Wednesday as they look to go further than last season.
