Champions League: Mourinho Snubs Real Madrid, PSG, Names Best Team

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has identified Arsenal as the best team in the UEFA Champions League, despite his side’s impressive start to the competition.

Mourinho made the remarks after Real Madrid came from behind to defeat Roma 4-3 on Wednesday night, securing their second consecutive victory in the tournament.

The result means Madrid have collected six points from their opening two fixtures, having also defeated Inter Milan before the international break.

Speaking after the victory, Mourinho praised the strength of his team’s early opponents but insisted that Arsenal remain ahead of the competition.

“We now have secured six points against two very strong opponents, Inter and Roma,” Mourinho said.

He added: “I’m not saying they are the best, because Arsenal is still there.” His comments suggest that, despite Madrid’s positive results, he considers Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal a major contender for the Champions League title.
