Davido Is Most Influential Nigerian Under 40 – Asa Asika Claims

Renowned talent manager Asa Asika has claimed that Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is the most influential Nigerian under the age of 40.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Manager’s Playbook podcast hosted by Mauricio Ruiz, Asika pointed to Davido’s large following across social media platforms as evidence of his influence.

According to him, Davido is the most-followed Nigerian artist on almost every major social media platform, making him one of the country’s most recognisable personalities.

Asika also revealed that he often jokes with Davido about having a level of influence comparable to that of the President of Nigeria.

“I say to him all the time, ‘You do know you’re kinda like the President of Nigeria?’” Asika said.

He further claimed that some of the controversies Davido has experienced would have ended the careers of other artists, but the singer has continued to remain relevant despite them.

“Davido is a walking billboard. Every brand wants to associate with him. We haven’t paid for a music video with our own money in ages,” he added, highlighting the singer’s strong commercial appeal and value to brands.
