Davido’s ‘I Can Never Support APC’ Post Resurfaces After Uncle Joins Tinubu Campaign
Nigerian singer Davido’s past declaration that he would never support the All Progressives Congress (APC) has resurfaced following the appointment of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, as coordinator of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign in the state.
The appointment has sparked reactions on social media, with some users questioning Adeleke’s decision to join Tinubu’s campaign despite the political differences between their camps during the 2026 Osun governorship election.

One social media user, identified as IKEAN, criticised the development, writing, “Yesterday people died for Adeleke while fighting Tinubu APC to win elections. Today Ademola Adeleke, emerges APC Presidential Campaign Council Coordinator in Osun State.”
Another user, Chychy, tagged Davido in a post expressing disappointment over his uncle’s appointment.
“@davido we your fans are highly disappointed in your uncle for accepting this appointment,” the user wrote.
A third user, identified as Sly, also questioned the decision, linking it to the sacrifices supporters allegedly made during the election.
“@davido I pity those that loss there live because of your uncle reelection.. there souls will be crying because they died for democracy instead they died for Apc,” the user stated.
Davido’s Previous Declaration Against APC
Davido had openly opposed the APC ahead of the August 2026 Osun governorship election, declaring, “I can never support APC in my life!”
Following news of Adeleke’s appointment, the singer shared a video of his uncle dancing and singing on his Instagram Story. However, he did not directly address the appointment in the post.
Adeleke, who secured re-election under the Accord Party, was named among the coordinators in Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign structure in Osun State.
