In her earlier warning, the 44-year-old complained that many actors called her by name without showing her respect.
Reacting to her comments, several actors, including Wumi Toriola, criticised her for calling out the entire industry instead of identifying the person who allegedly disrespected her.
Wumi also advised Desola to change her surname from Afod to her father’s name, since she is no longer married to their colleague.
Desola Retracts Her Statement
Amid the criticism, Desola took to Instagram to retract her general statement about Yoruba film practitioners.
“Whatever statement I made generally concerning ‘Àwọn ọmọ Tíátíà’, I hereby retract and take it back. I don’t mean to generalise or refer to everyone in the industry. The few people that did me dirty know themselves,” she wrote.
Responding to Wumi’s comment about her marriage and surname, Desola insisted that she would continue to bear the Afod name.
“One thing remains unchanged: MY NAME IS STILL DESOLA AFOD, CELEB WIFE, TILL THE END OF TIME 100,” she stated.
