Disney’s ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Voice Actress Daveigh Chase Dies At 35
Hollywood actress Daveigh Elizabeth Chase, best known as the voice of Lilo in Disney’s animated Lilo & Stitch, has reportedly died at the age of 35.
Her death was confirmed by her manager, John Ryan Jr., in an interview with BBC News.
According to Ryan, Chase was admitted to a hospital on Wednesday due to severe malnourishment.
He said the actress later died from sepsis after also suffering from meningitis while receiving treatment at a hospital in Los Angeles.
Speaking about her, Ryan said:
“She was the greatest. She loved cats. She worked with cat rescues with us. She was very to herself.
“She was not very Hollywood.
“She’d rather eat at Bob’s Big Boy and go home with the cats. She loved acting but wasn’t into the fame scene.”
Daveigh Elizabeth Chase was born on July 24, 1990. She began acting at the age of four and landed her first Hollywood role when she was seven years old. She later stepped away from full-time acting in 2015.
She was widely recognized for voicing Lilo in Disney’s Lilo & Stitch and for her role in the horror film The Ring.
Reports stated that in June 2026, Chase was hospitalized in Los Angeles after experiencing severe malnutrition following a period of significant weight loss.
While receiving treatment, her condition reportedly worsened after doctors diagnosed her with meningitis and multiple serious bloodstream infections. Medical professionals reportedly said her condition had become critical.
For her role as Lilo, Chase won an Annie Award in 2003 and continued voicing the character in later projects within the Lilo & Stitch franchise.
