Controversial Nigerian content creator DJ Chicken has been remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos State.

A Magistrate Court sitting in Ogba, Lagos, ordered his remand on Friday over allegations that he threatened the life of Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.

According to the charges, DJ Chicken was arraigned on three counts involving alleged violations of the Cybercrimes Act, breach of public peace, and making threats to kill.

The charges followed a viral video in which he allegedly stated that Seyi Tinubu would not win re-election in 2027.

After the video gained attention online, DJ Chicken publicly withdrew the statement and claimed it was a joke meant to attract attention and boost his popularity.

Despite the apology, he was arrested and taken to court.

The content creator pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

The court granted him bail in the sum of ₦1 million with two sureties in like sum. One surety must be a civil servant, while the other must be a community leader who owns landed property in Lagos State.

The sureties were also ordered to provide three years of tax clearance, utility bills, their National Identification Number (NIN), and Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) registration documents. One of the sureties must be a blood relative.

The case was adjourned until August 3, 2026, while DJ Chicken remains in custody pending the fulfillment of his bail conditions.
