EPL: Alan Shearer Names Good Replacement For Carrick At Man Utd

Former England international Alan Shearer has identified Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler as a potential replacement for Michael Carrick at Manchester United if the current manager loses his job.

Carrick is reportedly under pressure at Old Trafford following Manchester United’s disappointing start to the Premier League season, with his position becoming increasingly uncertain.

United currently sit 13th in the league table after drawing 1-1 with Leeds United over the weekend, extending their difficult run of results.

Carrick’s side have managed just one victory from their opening seven Premier League fixtures, raising concerns about the team’s performance under his leadership.

“If Michael Carrick is relieved of his duties, Fabian Hürzeler would be a good replacement, but it is a very different model at Brighton,” Shearer told Betfair.

Hürzeler has attracted attention for his work at Brighton, and Shearer believes he could be considered if Manchester United decide to make a managerial change.

Carrick was appointed United’s permanent manager a few months ago after guiding the club to a top-five Premier League finish and qualification for the Champions League. However, the team’s current struggles have placed his position under scrutiny.
