EPL: Brentford Set Record With 3-0 Win Over Chelsea

Brentford have recorded their best-ever start to a Premier League season after defeating Chelsea 3-0 at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The Bees produced an impressive second-half performance to secure a convincing victory and remain unbeaten after their opening five league fixtures.

Jaidon Anthony, Igor Thiago and Fabio Carvalho were all on target as Keith Andrews’ side cruised to three points against Chelsea.

Speaking after the match, Anthony revealed that Andrews urged the players to increase their intensity during the half-time team talk.

“At half-time, he (Andrews) just wanted us to increase the intensity and keep believing,” Anthony said.

Anthony also revealed that Carvalho had predicted he would score before the match.

“Fab [Carvalho] told me a couple of days ago that I was going to score, so I’m really happy with that one. It was an unbelievable feeling.”

The victory leaves Brentford with nine points from their first five Premier League matches.

Their tally surpasses the club’s previous best five-game start in the top flight, when they collected eight points during the 2021-22 campaign.
