Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has predicted that Manchester City and Arsenal will be the only two teams competing for the Premier League title this season. He made the comments on Sky Sports following Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat to City.

City secured the victory at Anfield after scoring three second-half goals, with Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch sent off after receiving a second yellow card.

Following the result, Carragher backed Enzo Maresca’s Manchester City side to challenge the reigning champions, Arsenal, for the league title.

The former Liverpool defender believes the gap between the two clubs and their rivals is significant, leaving other Premier League teams unlikely to sustain a serious title challenge.

“Arsenal and Man City are the two best teams by a mile. We know that, and no one else is really going to compete with them for the title,” Carragher said.

Carragher also expressed concern about the delay in resolving Manchester City’s financial charges, arguing that the uncertainty raises questions about the club’s future and the significance of the title race.

“We need a resolution as soon as possible because we’re watching a game and not sure what it actually means going forward, and wondering if it even makes any difference to Man City or the title race with Arsenal,” he said.
