EPL: Carrick takes decision on removing Bruno Fernandes as Man Utd captain
Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes will remain the club’s captain despite criticising manager Michael Carrick following the team’s recent poor performances.
Fernandes questioned Carrick’s tactical decisions after Manchester United suffered a 4-1 defeat to Como in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils have struggled in recent weeks, failing to win any of their last seven matches across all competitions.
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United have no plans to strip Fernandes of the captaincy despite his public criticism of the manager.
The Portugal international is also unlikely to face disciplinary action from the club over his comments about Carrick’s tactical approach.
Carrick, who has come under increasing pressure following United’s disappointing results, is expected to remain in the dugout when the team hosts Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday.
