EPL: Real reason why Man Utd haven’t sacked Carrick yet
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick could be dismissed from his position on Monday, although the official announcement may be delayed due to the club’s reporting obligations.
According to The Guardian, Manchester United must notify the New York Stock Exchange before announcing a managerial dismissal, and the exchange is closed on weekends.
The situation is similar to what happened with former manager Ruben Amorim, whose dismissal followed his explosive comments after the draw against Leeds United but was not officially announced until the following Monday.
Carrick is now facing the possibility of losing his job after Manchester United suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday.
The result has intensified pressure on the manager, with the club struggling to recover from a disappointing run of performances.
Manchester United’s position in the Premier League table has also become a major concern, as the defeat left them in 16th place.
