EPL Table: Arsenal Maintain Second Position With Narrow Win At Nottingham Forest
Arsenal maintained second place in the Premier League table after securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in Sunday’s late kick-off.
The Gunners entered the match knowing that a win was important to keep them within reach of league leaders Manchester City, who defeated Ipswich Town 3-2 on Saturday.
Manchester City have collected 21 points from their opening seven matches, maintaining a perfect record and opening a six-point gap over Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta’s side struggled to create clear opportunities against Forest, failing to register a shot on target until the 80th minute.
Substitute Noni Madueke eventually broke the deadlock after receiving a pass from Declan Rice before seeing his effort deflected into the net.
The goal proved decisive, securing three valuable points for Arsenal and taking their tally to 18 points in the league standings.
