EPL table: Saka nets winner as Arsenal go joint-top with Man City
Bukayo Saka scored the only goal as Arsenal secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Aston Villa in the Premier League on Monday night.
The Gunners arrived at Villa Park determined to respond after suffering a 2-1 defeat at the same venue last season. They had also started the new campaign strongly with a convincing 3-0 win over Coventry City.
However, Arsenal found it difficult to break down Villa, with the first half ending goalless. Neither side managed to register a shot on target before the interval.
Saka eventually made the difference in the second half, bundling the ball into the net after Arsenal produced a fine attacking move down the left side.
The victory gives Mikel Arteta’s side another important three points and keeps their perfect start to the Premier League season intact.
