EPL: You can’t blame him – Gallas speaks on Arsenal star joining Real Madrid

Former Arsenal defender William Gallas believes William Saliba could be tempted to join Real Madrid if the Spanish giants made an attempt to sign the French centre-back from the Gunners.

Gallas made the comments ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Hull City at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Speaking to SeatPick, he questioned whether Arsenal have reached a level where Saliba would reject an opportunity to join Real Madrid.

“Are Arsenal at a high enough level now that William Saliba would turn down Real Madrid if they came in for him?” Gallas asked.

He added: “If we are talking about the history of Real Madrid and Arsenal, then Real Madrid is Real Madrid. They’re on a different level.”

The former defender further suggested that most players would seriously consider joining the Spanish club if given the opportunity. “Any player who has the opportunity to go to Madrid, they will try to go there. You could not blame Saliba if that is his decision,” he said.
