Fire Guts School Hostel In Plateau
There was panic in Jos, the Plateau State capital, on Thursday after a fire engulfed one of the hostels at St Louis College.
The fire reportedly started at about 6 p.m. and destroyed furniture, mattresses and other valuables in the affected hostel.
No casualties were reported as the incident occurred while students were away from the school on holiday.

An eyewitness, Taiwo Olayinka, told Vanguard that several properties were destroyed in the fire.
“An unfortunate fire gutted one of the hostels in the school. Thankfully, students are on holiday, but furniture, mattresses and other valuables are being consumed by the inferno,” the eyewitness said.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known as of the time of filing this report.
It was also unclear whether firefighters had been able to put out the fire.
