‘He’s A Good Kid’ – Cristiano Ronaldo Backs His Son To Be Bigger Than Him

Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken about his son Cristiano Jr.’s development and potential future in football after watching him train.

Cristiano Jr., Ronaldo’s eldest son, is currently part of the youth setup at Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr. The 16-year-old is highly rated and has already represented Portugal at youth level.

He was called up to Portugal’s U-15 team in 2025 before being promoted to the U-16 squad in early 2026.

While watching his son train with his teammates at Al-Nassr, Ronaldo praised Cristiano Jr.’s character and described him as a good and honest young man.

“He’s a good kid. Honest, a good kid. The others are tougher. The ones I have at home, the younger ones. This one is no problem. The others are…” Ronaldo said, via Netflix Sports on X.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner also compared his son’s physical development with his own at the same age, saying Cristiano Jr. is already bigger and stronger than he was as a teenager.

“When I was his age, he was a bit bigger and stronger. I was smaller. I believe he will be bigger than me in size. The hunger is the most challenging aspect,” Ronaldo added.

Ronaldo believes his son’s desire and determination to succeed will be one of the most important factors in deciding how far he can go in football.

Cristiano Ronaldo is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in football history. Despite being 41, he continues to play for both his club and Portugal, meaning expectations surrounding his son are likely to remain high as Cristiano Jr. develops his own career.
