Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has sparked reactions on social media after a video showed her personally inviting passersby into her restaurant and offering them discounted meals.

In the viral video, Hilda was seen stepping outside her restaurant during lunchtime to encourage people nearby to come in and dine.

She said:

“Hello! It’s lunch time. I will give you discount.”

While speaking with people outside, some customers drove into the restaurant. Hilda warmly welcomed them before heading inside to attend to them herself.

The video has since generated mixed reactions online.

Some social media users praised her hands-on approach to promoting her business, while others linked the move to the country’s current economic challenges.

One user, Bulus Paul, wrote:

“Country really hard no be lie, most fancy restaurants are turning to bukka for easier sells. And this is real not content.”

Another user, Ibrahim, commented:

“She’s having low engagement? She should do king mitchy style na.”

Riz Sign wrote:

“All those fake celebrities, called celeb….. will never patronize themselves ooo. Na fake dollars them know how to spray. Check out the people getting meals, well organized individuals not nonsense called celeb.”

“If established brands like Hilda Baci are stepping onto the road to hustle for customers at discounted rates, imagine what the average Nigerian walking past her is going through.

Another user, Donald, wrote:
