Nigerian singer Ms Jorji has sparked major reactions online after making controversial statements about relationships, money, and promiscuity during a podcast interview.
She made the comments on a recent episode of The Echo Room Podcast, where she openly shared her views on identity, gender expectations, and how she values money in her life.
During the conversation, Ms Jorji said, “I love being called a whore. Ashwo. I’m presidential with it. I’m presidential ashwo. Make sure election day, vote president. Na me be that.”
The host reacted by suggesting that she was trying to present promiscuity as a form of empowerment, saying, “It sounds to me like you’re saying promiscuity is a power.”
She responded, “It is.”
When challenged further, the host added, “But that doesn’t sound right,” and she replied, “How does it not sound right? But it’s ok for men?”
The host countered, “Nobody says it’s okay for men. But I’m saying for women, is it good?”
Ms Jorji also rejected traditional expectations placed on women, saying, “I’m not a good woman. I think my life and my choices let me know that I wasn’t built to be a good woman. I was built to be what I am, a bad woman. A bad woman, Horrible, Evil.”
She added, “I swear to God, I never, never, not one day have I ever woken up and been good.”
Explaining her outlook, she said, “It means I don’t give a shit what anyone has to say. I look at men as good pair of shoes. Money is the only thing I worship. I’m gonna open my church next year. It’s called Money Congregation.”
She further stated, “The only thing I care about is money. If a man wants to talk to me, he has to spend money,” adding, “I will never fuck for free. That’s your mom’s job.”
Her comments have continued to generate heated debate across social media, with many users divided over her statements and message.
