‘I Regret Going To Big Brother Naija Despite The Benefits’ – Mercy Eke
Former Big Brother Naija winner and Nollywood actress, Mercy Eke, has revealed that she regrets participating in the reality show despite the success and opportunities it brought into her life.
Speaking during a recent episode of Toke Moments with media personality Toke Makinwa, Mercy said adjusting to life after leaving the BBNaija house was difficult because of the pressure and constant public attention that came with fame.
According to her, although the show opened many doors and changed her life financially, the downside of being in the spotlight has been overwhelming.
She also spoke about her struggles with relationships, admitting that finding a life partner has not been easy since becoming famous.
“I regret going to Big Brother even though I love the benefits that come from it. I dey fall in love like mumu. Now I say to myself that I want to marry, I want to marry, but it’s not easy.
“I have dated guys that I have given a lot of money to, not one, not two, because they didn’t have,” she said.
Mercy added that she eventually left Nigeria to start a new life abroad, where she had to adjust to a different lifestyle and work environment.
She also reflected on the challenges of fame, saying many people project their frustrations onto celebrities because they wish they had the same level of success and recognition.
“A lot of people are living through you. I feel like that’s where the anger comes from because they wish to be you, so they channel the anger that they should have taken to God to you,” she added.
