‘I Was Chased From Stage Because Of P-Square’ – Flavour Recalls Humiliating Experience

Nigerian singer Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavour Nabania, has recalled a humiliating experience he had with the now-defunct music duo P-Square during the early stages of his career.

Flavour shared the experience during a recent podcast interview, explaining how he was performing at a club when P-Square unexpectedly arrived at the venue.

According to the singer, the club manager asked him to leave the stage immediately so that P-Square could perform.

Flavour said he switched off his microphone and quietly went to sit somewhere as P-Square took over the stage.

“I was performing one time when PSquare came in, and the manager of the place told me to leave the stage immediately.

“I switched off my mic and went and sat down somewhere. Ladies were screaming and cheering wildly the moment Paul of P-Square took the mic and began singing ‘Temptation.’

“I was wondering whether it is not the same music we are all doing because I have been performing there and the crowd had never cheered me that way.

“I didn’t let the experience discourage me. Instead, I took it as a motivation to work harder and now we are here,” he stated.

Flavour said the experience, although embarrassing at the time, motivated him to remain focused and continue improving his music.

The singer has since established himself as one of Nigeria’s prominent musicians, with several successful songs and albums to his name.
