Nollywood actress Nancy Isime has revealed that she prefers to keep financial matters private in her relationships and does not believe couples must disclose their earnings to one another.

Speaking during a podcast interview with media personality Prince Ita, Nancy explained that discussions about income are completely off limits for her.

According to the actress, she has no intention of telling her partner how much she earns and equally has no interest in knowing his salary. She said she values privacy and believes certain personal matters should remain individual.

Nancy stated that financial independence has always been one of her biggest goals, adding that while many young women dream about marriage, she spent her younger years dreaming about building a successful career and making her own money.

She said:

“I never discuss three things: my money, my money, my money. Tell a man how much I earn? Never. For what? And I don’t want him to discuss his with me either. I don’t want to know how much he is earning.

“I have no problem with him going through my phone, but for what? I would never ask to check my man’s phone.

“When young girls used to sit down and daydream about getting married, I never did. I used to daydream about working, making my own money and being independent.”

The actress also shared her thoughts on marriage ceremonies, saying she does not have a specific dream wedding in mind. According to her, if she eventually gets married, the type of wedding she has will depend on what both partners agree on at the time.

“I fear that I might not even have my dream wedding because what is a dream wedding? Even if I get married, it would just be a wedding that we both agree on. If it is a big wedding, fine. If it is a small wedding, whatever we feel.”

Nancy’s comments have sparked conversations online, with some people praising her stance on financial privacy and independence, while others argue that transparency about income is important in serious relationships and marriage.
